Best: Brandon Dubinsky - 6th Round - I think if he was healthy all of last year he would have went in the first 4 rounds
Worst: Marco Scandella - 10th Round - I think I could have waited longer for him and had better options in this round.
Sleeper: Mikeal Granlund - 12th Round - Will be playign 1st line minutes with Parise. This is a sleeper
Prospect:
Best: Aaron Ekblad - 1st Round - He dropped to 7. I got to snag him up.
Worst: Mike Reilly - 6th Round - I think I could have waited longer for him as well, but I thin he' a sleeper on this deep Minnesota Defense
Sleeper: Anthony Mantha - 4th Round - I think if he wasn't injured last year he would have went top 2 rounds in our draft for sure. I think if he comes back strong this is a great pick.
Best: Jordan Eberle - 5th Round - Now with McDavid!
Worst: Colin Wilson - 13th Round - Raffl went right the fuck after him... god damn.
Sleeper: Ilya Kovalchuk - 23rd Round - Young gun with potential. Think he could succeed if he makes the jump the NHL this year.
Prospect:
Best: Sam Bennett - 1st Round - It's easy to choose your first rounder, but this guy will be a stud.
Worst: Juuse Saros - 6th Round - Might've waited a bit too long to pick a goalie...
Sleeper: Travis Sanheim - 9th Round - Mark my words, this kid will be a top-3 defenseman in the NHL one day. Maybe not for a while, but he'll get there.
Best: Close between Jones, Rielly, Couturier, and Johnson, but I'm giving it to Barkov. Second overall pick and he's still 19 I believe in the 9th round. Worst: I think I may have taken Scrivens too high, but it goes to Kadri because of the missed pick that fell 5 rounds. Was my 68th pick, but I'm loving that he fell, and I think he can get match that value. Sleeper: MacArthur probably as he should be looking at around 25 goals this year. Honourable mention goes to Petry, Ehroff and Zajac. Rookie best: I'd go with a tie with Marner and Larkin. Both should've been gone in the first round without a doubt in my mind and Marner in top 10. Worst: I am in love with all my picks, but my worst is Nylander because I didn't trade down to get him. I really think in the future this will will be looked at as a great pick, but not currently. Also people aren't loving my Bracco pick Sleeper: there should be a lot of guys on this list, but going with Point. In January he's gonna light the U20s on fire and people will understand why I took him where I did. Honourable mention goes to Barbashev as I thought there was no way he was escaping the first 2 rounds and I got him in the 5th

Prospect:
Best pick: Marko Dano, 2nd round, 21st overall. Potentially a contentious pick for some, but I had Dano ranked in the top 3 prospects based on immediate fantasy value. I was strongly considering taking him with my 11th overall, but decided to take an actual prospect with that pick (Vasilevskiy), and was very happy that others weren't as bullish on Dano and/or thought he would slip slightly further.
Worst pick(s): Difficult to say at this point, but Grubauer (145th), Nilsson (115th) and Moses (126th) all have potential to be outright flops. Conversely, they could be major contributors this season given goalie injuries/a successful KHL->NHL transition, so it'll make it fun to follow them!
NHL:
Best pick(s): Evander Kane, 3rd round, 53rd overall. I had Evander ranked 9th overall on my list, and he was 25th overall based on PPG last season. Also, Ovechkin. He has been #1 for the past three seasons using our points categories, and his production last season was 114% of the second place finisher (Jamie Benn).
Worst pick(s): I don't think any of my picks were bad, but the opportunity cost of selecting Tuukka Rask (40th overall) and Erik Johnson (88th overall) over other positional players may end up hurting me. I have confidence in Rask, but it's hard to surmise just how bad Boston will be this season. Johnson's PPG numbers last season were great, and he has the pedigree to become an elite d-man, but his injury troubles could become an issue.
Last Edit: Aug 11, 2015 3:17:20 GMT -8 by MIN (Juuso): words
I took risks on unproven talent this draft which means I could either be a very strong playoff team or near the bottom. Time will tell. Because of this, I'm not sure what my worst picks were.
NHL:
Best pick: Carey Price (1st round, 7th overall). I knew going into the draft I needed a strong goalie early, but I had no idea how strongly others wanted him. This resulted in me trading him away for the 2nd overall prospect and others.
Worst pick: I think Bernier may have been a less than ideal pick given who else was out there when I took him 127th overall. Toronto's defence is horrible, BUT that's also partially why I took him - he sees more shots than most other goaltenders. In fact, he was 13th overall for shots against. Still, he's not the strongest and the weak D means goals get in when they shouldn't sometimes.
Prospect:
Best Pick: I'm actually quite happy with some of my picks so far, but grabbing Maatta may be the best pick if he stays healthy. He's on a great team and I really need a strong defence, so if all goes well, he'll be a beast.
Worst Pick: Not sure yet, draft is only half way done.
NHL: Best Pick: Gabriel Landeskog at no. 33 overall- Based on our scoring he was the no. 23 scoring player overall, across all positions, and is only 22, and actually shot below his career average in terms of percentage- He had what some called a "disappointing year" and still put up 60 points, not to mention his hits/blocks. He's going to be the keystone of my forwards for years, and hasn't even hit his prime yet based on age curve studies. He could have top-5 upside, but my guess is he scores in the top 15 players this year...at age 23.
Worst Pick: I think Nail Yakupov was a risky pick that doesn't necessarily have the best reward at the end of it. I took him after my other choices went back to back in the two picks beore me (Toffoli and Kadri). If Yakupov finally achieves, I look good, but those odds are low...
Sleeper: Justin Schultz in the 10th Round. Schultz doesn't look that impressive but part of that is playing on very bad Edmonton teams. He's going to be on the no. 1 PP unit for a team that, if healthy, has insane amounts of scoring talent, and might be playing with McDavid quite a bit. it's part of the reason I took Yakupov. Schultz is much more likely to work out, and is still young.
Prospect Draft:
Best: Aside from the fact that I'm absolutely thrilled to have Klingberg sitting there at no. 13, after I garnered an extra 4th Rounder in the Prospect draft simply by trading up then back down to the same spot, I think my best pick was Nikolaj Ehlers at no. 28 overall, given that by all accounts he's projected to be an elite scoring winger, is very very young to be so high up on most prospect lists, and could see second line minutes this year in the NHL. I thought for sure I was choosing Klingberg over him at 13.
Worst: Mackenzie Skapski in the 9th was way too early and I drafted a more promising goalie in the following round. I will say I made that pick largely based on the fact that he saw NHL time last year, and he's only 20, so who knows?
Sleeper: Ty Rattie has fallen off the radar a bit, but he's a very, very, very deadly shooter and getting him in the 8th round could be a steal- rumor has it the Oshie trade was made in part to get Jaskin and Rattie more time with the Blues on scoring lines; they wanted Brouwer to plug in on their third line, opening up a second line wing spot. Rattie, in his last two years of juniors put up 121 points (57 goals!) in 69 games and 110 points in 62 games, respectively. Those are insane numbers, and he put up 48 in 72 his first AHL season and then 42 in 59 games in the AHL last year, and did get 11 GP with the Blues.

Prospect:
Best pick: Nate B from my Habs. He's our number 3 4 defenceman and just signed a 2 year prove it deal should be good for me. He's gonna play with petry who is a solid 2 way d that makes a great first pass.
Worst pick: just took Tinordi mainly cause I know what I'm getting he is projecting to be our 6 7 8 d man this year so there is some risk but I'm sure the Habs could trade him to another team looking for a first rounder who hasn't had a chance to prove himself yet.
NHL:
Best pick: Price. I fully expect him to have another incredible year. The Habs got better this summer and may have added 25 goals between semin and our prust trade. He may get even more wins
Worst pick: seeing as how I didn't have a first my first pick was in the second round and I took Backes but doughty was up and I think I would have rather had him.
Sleeper(s): I can't decide here I have 3 almost 4 I am pretty pumped about. Although I didn't draft him I did trade for Marchand and as much as I hate the big nosed bastard he plays on the top line in Boston. Secondly Versteeg plays a good second third line role in Chicago now admidily I was picking him in hopes he plays with Kane but now Kane is in trouble so that could hurt me a bit but we will see he's still good for 40 maybe 50 points I hope. Thirdly Semin he has 1 year with the habs to prove he's still got it if he fucks this up he's going to the KHL. He will get 1 2 line minutes he will play with patches for a bit. His center will either be David D who is a passing machine. Thomas P who is a top 5 2 way center in the league or Alex Galchenyuk who hopes to be our franchise center man for years to come and has some of the sickest hands in the NHL. Also I got burrows really late and he is still a solid second line guy.
I feel like I ended up with a good team even though I gave away WAY to much for Price. Which BTW still worth it.
Best - I know my Lupul and Stastny picks have gotten some love but I think Vanek might have actually been my best in terms of value. I mean the guy put up 52 points last year and was talked about like he was scoring at a John Scott pace. 68 in 78 games the year before that, and 41 in 38 the year before. That's a big cliff to fall off of. Most used line combo was him, Zach Parise, and Mikael Granlund which isn't a bad look to say the least. Yeah he looked rotten at the end of the year but he did have hernia surgery in the offseason which he had apparently played through most of the second half of the year. Not injury prone and last year was the only season of his career under 25 goals besides the lockout year when he had 21. He's proven and has a few years of really solid production left.
Honorable mention to Justin Williams, who I think will end up on the top line in DC which hopefully leads to at least some value this year. I think he's a better fit with Backstrom and Ovi with Oshie slotting on the second line with two of Burakovsky, Kuznetsov, and Johannson because Oshie's playmaking would be a little redundant with Backstrom already in place.
Worst pick - Matt Irwin. Not even guaranteed to make the top six. But because complaining about a 6th defenseman on my roster isn't particularly exciting I'll give a nod to Mark Giordano. Now, I fully expect Gio to be a top five dman for at least three more years but I traded up to early 2nd to get him when I really could have waited and gotten someone of frankly equal caliber. Given Gio's injury history and a rapidly stacking blueline in Calgary, that was a reach.
Prospect draft: Best pick - there's a few I felt good about (Galiev and Jarnkrok were later rounders that have potential value for this year) but I think my best was Ryan Pulock. The Isles shipped out Griffin Reinhart and I expect Pulock to not only make the team but contribute right away. Last four years he has 19, 14, 23, and 17 goals and in his final year of junior he put up 63 points in 66 games from the back. Plus he's a '94 so there's still plenty of time to grow, which he should given his pedigree (15th overall pick) and progression so far. Honorable mention to Josh Ho-Sang because I dont have to deal with his off ice bs.
Worst pick - Joey LaLeggia was my ace in the hole but I panicked because I was in the middle of a move and didnt feel like I had time to research so I took him like five rounds early. Still like him though since his last year at Denver he scored at a point per game rate but he is already 23 and Edmonton has some prospects stacked ahead of him. Also Anthony DeAngelo given the concerns about whether he can ever have a role much different that Marc Andre Bergeron at the NHL level and I used a second round pick on him with some stud D left on the board.
Best - Tyler Myers @ 133. He's only 25 and should see his stats improve greatly in the coming seasons with Winnipeg on the upswing
Worst - Probably Anton Lander @ 291, not that he's a bad player or anything like that, I just don't think he was going to be taken any time soon and I already had a very young team
Prospect:
Best - I guess I'm gonna have to go with my last pick Sproul in the 17th round. A very offensively gifted defenseman who is excellent on the powerplay and could easily see serious time in the NHL this season. He projects to be paired with the more defensive Ouellet one day and I got him 5 rounds later than Ouellet.
Worst - Plotnikov. I wanted him mostly because he could be playing with Malking this year but I think I took him too early at 45.
