I realize everyone here likes hockey but I am wondering what other sports people like and their favourite teams and players. I personally follow many sports and here they are:
Soccer I watched it since I was a kid. My favourite teams are Arsenal and the national polish team as I am polish, but live in Canada. My favourite soccer moment are the invinciblea where in 2003-2004 Arsenal went a whole season of 38 games undefeated and are the only team to ever do so. Their undefeated streak ended at 49 games. My favourite player all time is Thierry Henry and my favourite presently is Mesut Ozil.
Basketball I have just gotten into ball this year and have been practising myself with my friends who got me into it. My favorite tema is the raptors. My favorite moment is when Isiah Thomas scored 25 points in a quarter in game six of the finals while limping with a sprained ankle. My favorite players of all time are Isiah Thomas and Allen Iverson while my favorite now is Dirk Nowitzki.
Baseball I just got into baseball this year after reading Moneyball a few months ago. I love the blue jays and my favorite moment is now with the way they are winning, it is a joy to watch. My favorite player is David Price even before he was a jay he was my fave pitcher.
Football Not a hardcore fan but have been playing fantasy past two years. My favorite team are the Lions, and favorite player is Megatron.
Post what you like in the comments. Yours doesn't have to be as long as mine but I would like to develop some allies in some other sports and develop some rivalries.
Duuuuuude... Me too and my favorite team is also Arsenal. TBH I usually get shit from people who like soccer when I tell them my favorite player ever is Henry so it's good to know I'm not alone.
I'm not a baseball person and I don't really like professional basketball, but I like college basketball and I love to play (IMO march madness is probably in the top 3 most exciting sporting events in the world behind the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the World Cup).
Football I am big into Football and even played in High School. My team is the Rams and my favorite all time player is Marshall Faulk. My favorite current player is a tough choice but I think I gotta go Julio Jones because he is just so darn talented. Second choice Le'veon Bell for the same reason and he smokes weed.
Baseball I love baseball. Honestly even without fantasy sports I could watch pretty much any game on. I know enough about every team that its always enjoyable. I know a lot of people hate the pace, but honestly aside from the more frequent commercial breaks, I love it. I'm always reminded of a quote from the Ken Burns series.
"It follows the seasons, beginning each year with the fond expectancy of springtime and ending with the hard facts of autumn...It is a haunted game in which every player is measured against the ghosts of all who have gone before. Most of all, it is about time and timelessness, speed and grace, failure and loss, imperishable hope-- and coming home."
Everything else is just televised games of sport. But thats just me.

Aww man, favorite documentary ever. Really wish he would do a hockey one.
I watch baseball, but not as much as I used to. Cubs are winning so that always gives me a little hope before it is dashed. If they could win a WS before I die, I will have seen every major sports team in Chicago win the highest trophy in their respective leagues. Favorite ball player all-time is either Ryan Sandberg, such a classy guy, or Randy Johnson, he is a lefty just like me. Favorite moment, 1996? homerun race, was so epic even with the PED stuff.
Hmm, football, meh I watch it at sports bars, know a decent amount only because of fantasy football. Favorite player, Walter Payton, current favorite, Andrew Luck or Beckham Jr.
Only watch futbol during the WC, and usually root for the underdog teams.
BBall, is kind of hard to watch because I grew up in the Jordan era and everything pales in comparison to it. James is just not on the same level nor will he ever be. Jordan, Malone and Wilkins are my favorite players when I watched.
College hoops I still watch, kids still got lots of heart, and so many playing in the tournament are never going to play in the NBA so they play their hearts out. Favorite teams are Gonzaga, Seton Hall, and Kentucky
College, Euro, WSJ, or even AUS/NZ hockey I love to watch when I can catch it. Frozen Four is coming to Chicago in 2018, and I am hoping to get tickets for the whole tournament.
Hockey- I'm a Jets fan but I also follow the WHL very closely (and to a lesser extent the rest of the CHL); I go to a lot of Portland Winterhawks games, and I've been to a few ECHL games down in Stockton, where my partner is from. My favorite Jet is probably Blake Wheeler. Although that might change if Nic Petan makes the team, as I've watched his entire junior career, and he has been my favorite Winterhawk.
Baseball- I watch a LOT of baseball, it's the sport I grew up with. I'm a Dodgers fan, and I also follow the Mariners a bit. My partner is a Giants fan so that's a lot of fun, with the rivalry and all. I played a lot of baseball growing up, and in high school umpired for a summer job. I still play softball (fall ball starts in a week). My favorite current players are Joc Pederson, Justin Turner, and Enrique Hernandez from the Dodgers, and Brad Miller from the Mariners.
Basketball- I'm a Portland Trailblazers fan, though growing up in South Seattle I was a Seattle Supersonics fan- obviously that ship sailed. My favorite Blazer (other than Damian Lillard, whose rap game is on point) is probably Meyers Leonard. I don't watch a lot of college basketball, except for the March Madness tournament.
Football- Been a Seahawks fan for life; I cried when they won the Super Bowl two years ago. Favorite player is Earl Thomas, and I'm really excited about Tyler Lockett.
Soccer- The other sport I played in high school. I follow MLS mainly (Seattle Sounders) but as far as European teams go, I used to like Chelsea when I was much younger (and uninformed) but I generally have a soft spot for clubs with American ties including Leicester City, Fulham, and Sunderland.
Edit note: I realize now my soccer interests look insanely glory hunting given Leicester's shocking run this season, but for the record I've liked them for like 3 years. Kasey Keller, Pacific Northwest and American soccer legend played for them in the late 90s. So back off

There's a bar I go to in Nola every weekend without fail that's the official Arsenal bar in the city. I could care less about them but even at 7:30 on a Sunday morning they'll get 40+ for Arsenal games and if it's the North London on a Saturday afternoon they get over 100 Arsenal fans easy. Usually gets a few dozen for every EPL game (and has to close off the street for US games) but the dude who owns it is seriously loyal and has opened up at six am for me a couple times knowing there'd only be like three people there at best considering it's Norwich against like West Brom or somebody.
