I would like to propose a SOG category for next season since the season has already started. I am unaware of which teams are leading the league in SOG, and for all I know I could be last. I just think that it is unfair that some players have a hell of a game, but end up scoring no points in our league because they didn't get a goal or assist. It seems like the physical forwards who are playing in the top 6 get more points than the most skilled players on that team, because the powerforwards get blocks, hits and points when the skilled players rely mostly on points. I just think SOG is an important category in fantasy hockey as a 50 point scorer who generates a lot of shots should be worth more than a 43 point scorer who hits a lot. I just want your guys opinion on if you would want to include SOG for next year or if you are fine with the current scoring.

I am personally in favour of this. We neglected to vote on the addition of SOG during the initial category debate. I think it adds a nice element to the game, and as TBL said, it makes the box scores a bit less dull. It's a bit frustrating to see a player register 0 points after an offensive performance, just because they didn't manage to score a point, or put up a HIT, PIM or BLK.
Full disclosure: As an Ovechkin owner, I would probably benefit a fair bit from this addition.
After the season ends I will make a discussion thread about rule changes, additions, and subtractions. Let's bring this up again then and vote on it in the offseason.
Sounds like it will pass, but let's hold off until the offseason.
