It's a bit into the season, and I've decided to compile a list of my NHL awards for this season, based on this season alone.
Hart (MVP)
Winner: Kane. Has been amazing this year.
Runner up: Lundqvist. Best goalie in the league since Price's injury.
3rd: Jamie Benn. Just keeps playing so well. That Seguin, Benn partnership is amazing.
Norris (Best D)
Winner: Karlsson: Just so good, words cannot describe him
Klingberg: Making the most of playing on a stacked Dallas team
Doughty: Shifted into a whole other gear after missing the playoffs last year.
Vezina (Best G)
Lundqvist: Just not fair to opposing teams. Takes this easily unless Price steals it rest of the season.
Marc-Andre Fleury: The Penguins have struggled but the flower has been great.
Shnieder: He is leading this NJ team into playoff contention.
Calder (Rookie of the year)
Larkin: Made the Red Wings outta camp and has been the best rookie since.
Paryko: Stepped up huge during St. Louis's injury bug. Hasn't looked back since
Panarin: Almost ppg, and has been a huge reason why Kane is having the year he has been having.
Selke (Best defensive forward)
Larkin. Giving it to the rookie, because what he has done defensively through the first couple of games has been exceptional.
Kopitar: Is one of the best 2 way players in the game.
Carter. Has really stepped up his D this year. (Hardest category to choose, because at this point no one has really stood out.)
Lady Bying (Under 5 Pims(Cut it in half because we haven't reached half of the year yet))
Hoffman. Piling up points.
Ristolainen. Physical defenseman who is piling up points, hits, but staying out of the box.
Toffoli. 3 place as he has 20 points in 28 games as well as a good defensive game.
