I wanted to ask everybody to check out the rule book again and ask any questions. A couple people have already found some contradictions in the rule book and I just want to make sure there aren't anymore. 40 eyeballs are better than 2.
Some specific sections I'd love for everybody to look at:

Lottery Percentages look good.
With regards to the transactions section, I think this point may merit some discussion:
2. All claims must be added on Fantrax within 24 hours of making the claim here on the site.
Would it not make more sense to make the transaction first on FanTrax, and then confirm it on the forums? I presume most of us will be looking at players on FanTrax, deciding who may be a worthwhile pick-up, and it just seems more fluid to add them then and there. It means you know who is available straight away, and won't be disappointed when rushing to the forums to post your selection, and finding out that someone else already has staked a claim.

I always felt that the forums made it very official. There's a time stamp and there's no confusion. Then it's out on the boards for everybody to see. But it's my own preference.
What do other people think about Minnesota's point?
Yeah agreed. I dont want to look at someone on Fantrax then come here to post then go back to actually add them. I'd rather just add them then and there then come here to confirm if necessary.
In order to add players I agree that most people would be looking at fantrax first. So I think I'd lean towards Minnesota's idea.
Fair enough. I guess I always look at the forums first in my other league so I'm used to this. Potentially it would work the opposite way as long as people remember to put things on the forums. If we make it a rule ot put it on the forums first...then people won't forget. Things also work different in our league since there is no waiver wire function for adding players, only for players who have been dropped. We all get 1 add/day and it's first come first serve when adding FAs.
Let's see what others say.
Any other points you wanted to talk about in the rule book?
Also, if the add limits don't apply to IR replacements, then would the rest of the transaction rules still be in effect, ie the five day roster requirement? If I add Tomas Fleischmann on Sunday morning then have Duchene hit the IR later and add Dwight King the rules appear to say that I have to keep him until Friday but if there's an exception to the rule allowing me to add him, shouldn't I be able to drop him the next day with Monday's add being the one subjected to the five day requirement?

I saw it as that it's a free add but the 5 day rule is in effect. Makes you think through your decisions more.

I found something regarding the waiver draft rules that doesn't make sense:
1. The league will hold a waiver draft just prior to Training Camp. The waiver draft will consist of 2 rounds. It will be a draft comprised of the non-playoff teams based on final standings.
[...]
7. A team may only lose a total of 2 players during the waiver draft. Once said team has been chosen from 2 times, those players will no longer be able to be selected.
There will be 12 non-playoff teams taking part in the waiver draft, i.e. there will be 24 picks. If each of the 8 playoff teams can only lose 2 players, then only 16 picks can be made. I think each team will need to be able to lose 3 players for this to work.

VIII. INACTIVE LIST
1. If a player retires, signs a contract to play outside the NHL or goes unsigned, a team retains his rights for X year without him counting as a roster player and taking up a spot. Teams may make their "Inactive List" under the active roster for any NHL players that fall into this category.
This rule may need some clarification, e.g.:
How many years are inactive players retained for?
Is it possible to draft ineligible players (e.g. Undrafted draft eligible players, or players currently playing in different leagues).

It says X year, because I guess I wanted to talk about it. Usually I play with 1. Like I had Tim Thomas on my roster before he went inactive on my other league and I was allowed to keep him for free for a year.
I don't think you can draft people who are inactive, but if a player on your current roster becomes inactive, you can keep him for a year without penalty.

I was thinking about prospect limits, and thought this part of the rules could use a bit more clarification:
The players and prospects on your team must have their name and cap hit hosted on their respective roster page.
Quantity of prospect rosters will go as follows:
Year 1: 20 prospects
Year 2: 27 prospects
Year 3: 34 prospects
...
We've determined that prospects on the main roster count towards the prospect limit, and we are not able to replenish prospect rosters mid-season if our prospects spend the majority of the season in the big leagues. Some teams (*cough* Chicago *cough*) will therefore have quite a bit of room on their prospect roster at the end of the season, but we will only be drafting 7 new prospects next year. At the end of the season, lets say a team has 5 prospects who graduate to players, then that team would only have 22 of their 27 prospect slots filled after the 2016/17 draft.
How do these limits work? Will teams be able to then fill these unfilled slots up with players from Free Agency? Should we have some type of waiver system in place for allocating FA prospects?
You just fill the rest of your prospect roster via FA. No waiver draft for prospects. The prospects you draft are yours! The only somewhat waiver process is, just like adding normal players, you can only add 1/day. That will limit somebody from swooping in and grabbing 5 prospects at once.

Are we using a timezone email to specify this. Seeing as how I am an hour ahead of most of NA and we have someone from the UK and I think Australia we would have huge advantages on people from the west coast of NA. So are we using a certain one and If so which?

That's the part that I was wondering about. Makes sense!

Is it the top team in each conference + the 6 next best teams from the entire league that make it to the playoffs, or is it the top 4 teams from each conference that make it through?
