A place to post articles from around the media regarding the RDHL and its teams. An example:
Draft Day: Price Selected 8th overall in RDHL Inaugural Player Draft; Traded Immediately
In a major deal, the Columbus Blue Jackets, having selected Goalie Carey Price 8th overall in the 1st Round of the
RDHL Inaugural Player Draft, immediately traded him along with their 2nd Round Player Draft Pick, 1st and 3rd Round Prospect Draft
Picks to Montreal for their 1st and 2nd Round Player Draft Picks, and their 1st and 3rd Round Prospect Draft Picks. The move entails
Columbus moving down 11 picks in the 1st Round of the Player Draft, but up 11 spots in the other three rounds mentioned, including
up to #2 overall in the Prospect Draft, where they will be expected to select one of Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel. Chris [redacted],
GM for Columbus made the deal remotely, but this reporter tracked him to an office building in Portland, OR, where, holed up in an
office, when asked for comment replied "What the $#@& are you doing here? You're not supposed to know where I am right now! Get the
*&@# out before my boss sees you!". What the clearly frazzled hockey executive meant is unclear, as presumably he doesn't have a boss
other than Columbus majority owner John McConnel. Whatever the case, the move has elicited mixed reactions amongst fans, who wonder
chiefly why their GM has never been seen in person (or shown his face), and why the GM didn't just select Scott Hartnell. Self-
described "die-hard" Joe Hicks was quoted as saying "I don't know what he's doing! You can't win hockey games without GRIT. Scotty
Hartnell has HEART, DETERMINATION, and THE WILL TO WIN. He's a leader, not some Frenchie from Montreal! Scotty's a true
American hockey hero! That's what this team is about! Patriotism for the greatest country in the world! America! If this Chris [redacted]
has any kind of love for his country, he'll use the pick he got to draft Scotty. Otherwise, we'll burn [redacted]'s jersey! That'll
show him to mess with AMERICA!" Hicks, when informed that Carey Price was actually Canadian, from Vancouver BC and that Scott Hartnell
was from Regina SK, and that the Blue Jackets' roster had seven Americans on it last year, half the number of Canadians, as well as the
likelihood that the GM doesn't have his own jersey, and that perhaps he was drafting remotely because of threats like these, Hicks
claimed this reporter was lying, and demanded I produce a birth certificate proving that I was, in fact, "born here, and not in some
prissy European place". Time will tell as this draft continues how the hockey shakes out, but we have our second big deal of the draft,
after the trade of the no.1 overall pick that occurred minutes before the draft began. Something tells this reporter that there will be
more movement to come.
