This vote addresses the point brought up by Ian in the earlier thread:
"I think waivers could be cool/useful, but I would actually prefer the opposite. I think it would make sense if we were able to permanently promote a prospect to NHL status. For example if you draft a McDavid type of player who is only ever going to play in the NHL then you shouldn't have to waste a minor spot on them."
Voting 'No' would in effect solve this dilemma. These prospects would not be 'permanently promoted', as they could still be sent down if room is made for them on the prospect roster, but it would mean having a McDavid calibre player called up wouldn't prevent a team from adding another prospect to replace them.
Prospects should count if they play a certain number of games right (say 10 games on your team for example)? I don't understand the prospect system now lol. I thought prospects WERE players who weren't in the nhl, so idk how McDavid would count as a prospect past a certain amount of time.

Players who have played less than 100 games (50 for goalies) are considered prospects and are eligible to be put in your minor slots without going through waivers. But when prospects are called up as of now, they count towards your prospect limit. We are voting on whether that should be the case or if when they are called up they shouldn't count towards the prospect limit, opening up a prospect slot.
That means when you place somebody in the minors through waivers or not, you would have to drop a prospect to open a spot

Thank you everyone for voting! The majority has voted that called up prospects should not count towards a team's prospect limit, so this rule will go into effect along with the new waiver rules.
