Have the scoring settings ever been debated before? I'm fine with most of the point totals but I think it's a tad disappointing that SOG count for only.07. Feels like that should hold some more worth considering takeaways are worth .1, hits are .3 and blocks are .3. I think PIMs obviously have a place in fantasy but I don't see how literally taking yourself off the ice is worth so much more than the primary way of generating offense.
Just my two cents.

We usually do have some votes at the end of the season. We have had debates on adding/removing stat categories and on the value of each. I am sure we can bring up SOG in a vote before next season
Just checked the courthouse. Last time scoring settings was voted on was 2016 and I hadn't joined the league yet.
If it counts for anything, I'd like to see another vote for a change of scoring setting this offseason. That's a ways off so nothing to really worry about now.

We can definitely vote for scoring changes in the off-season. A contentious issue in the past was that prospects were selected, and trades were made, with the current scoring settings in mind. Shots on goal are highly correlated to goals, so increasing points for shots gives additional weight to scoring. Generally this isn't a massive issue, but with the depth of our league, having peripheral non-scoring stats be more valuable makes the pool of valuable fantasy players a lot larger.
I understand that. Even still, increasing the value by just a small margin could make a big difference.
The whole reason I bring this up is cuz I think it's silly that Keller could score two goals and have 12 SOG in a game but still have less points than a player with two powerplay assists. That seems skewed in my eyes.

Which player is it that you're referring to that you're comparing Keller to? For context.
Look at "All Players." Then organize them by SOG, HITS, BlCK, and you will see that SOG is a bigger pre-indicator to success. Why? Because SOG has peripheral scoring such as GOALS, and ASSISTS.
I believe it was Anders Lee but I honestly can't remember now.
I'm fully aware that shots lead to other forms of offense, but that's precisely why it should be worth a tad more than just .07. Like I said above, I'm not suggesting a huge change. It can be very minuscule. Every league I've ever played in has SOG worth just as much as some other defensive stats. I was simply questioning why this league was the anomaly.

This league is like that for the reason Jusso mentioned. It is such a deep league, that making those defensive stats worth more, means there is a deeper pool of players that are worth owning. SOG is really only going to beef up the guys that are already producing. But I would support a small change to boost it a bit.

The reason for that was because SOG was not an original category when the league was founded. We added it after the first season, and because everybody had already chosen their teams without SOG in mind, we couldn’t add too much weight to it initially. That said, it’s been the same for a while now, so there may be appetite for this to change.
